It is the oldest Premonstratensian monastery in Bohemia, founded in 1143. It is located in the picturesque part of Prague 1 \u2013 Hrad\u010dany.<\/p>\n<h2>History and Architecture<\/h2>\n<p>The monastery was founded by the Bishop of Olomouc, Jind\u0159ich Zd\u00edk, and Duke Vladislav II. Over the centuries, it has undergone numerous architectural transformations, from Romanesque to Gothic and later Baroque styles. The most significant parts include the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Theological and Philosophical Halls of the Strahov Library, and the Strahov Picture Gallery.<\/p>\n<h2>Strahov Library<\/h2>\n<p>The Strahov Library is one of the oldest and most valuable libraries in the world, housing over 200,000 volumes, including rare manuscripts and incunabula.
